Discussing the latest ICT trends with students

Last week, on the premises of Roaming Networks, we hosted students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, to talk about the latest trends in the ICT industry.

We took the opportunity to share with them the experiences we gained through doing business in different parts of the world and to emphasize the difference between the application of telecommunications strategies in different countries.

Filip Banković, Chief Technology Officer and Executive Director for International Markets , commented on the increasingly noticeable readiness of people to accept new technologies and use them as a foundation and inspiration for new business models and the prosperity of society.

“The development of technology allows us to look at things from a different perspective. This fact best relates to the development of Open RAN technologies. ORAN is a completely new and revolutionary technology that will allow equipment and software from different vendors to communicate. This new technology will not only improve the performance of the system, but will also respond better to the needs of the end user and enable the creation of new business models, “Banković emphasized.

Aleksandar Đurović, Lead RAN Engineer, spoke about the 4G RAN evolution and our experience in the application of this state-of-the-art technology within a pilot project in Germany.

In addition to Filip and Aleksandar, other colleagues from the RAN and HR sectors (Ljubinka Lutkić, Executive Director of Radio Communications, Marija Radunović, Director of Access Networks Design and Jasmina Petković, HR Business Partner), also shared information and the experiences we gained over the years of working in the ICT field. These new insights contributed to the further discussion that followed at the end of the lecture.
